The most significant change from the last update is that English Nature has recommended that parts of the route in the Kennet and Lambourne Valleys should be designated as Special Areas of Conservation (SAC’s) in order to protect the habitat of the Desmoulin’s Whorl Snail.
The Itoiz dam project in Navarra, Spain, not only destroys a large area of the surrounding environment but the two main building contractors have been convicted and imprisoned for paying bribes to secure the contract for this, as well as many other, projects.
On Wednesday 15th May there was the Shell AGM in London.
