European Car Free Day was officially celebrated in some British cities, but in those where it wasn’t activists celebrated it anyway.
The "Dump the Pump for Good" cycling event was organised to counter the car- lobby’s event on August 1st.
On 11th September the protest group ‘Rising Tide’ constructed an oil pipe in the garden of Shell spokesperson Tim van Kooten near The Hague, The Netherlands, protesting climate change.
