Genetix Snowball

GenetiX Snowball campaigners have been convicted of aggravated trespass for openly pulling up genetically modified (GM) crops in August last year. The magistrate did not accept that the campaigners held the honest belief that they were acting to prevent a crime when they pulled up the GM crops. These are the first convictions for aggravated trespass (trespass which interferes with a lawful activity) against GM campaigners although the charge has been repeatedly used against anti-roads protesters.
