Animal Burial Protests

Residents in Tow Law, Co. Durham are fighting a mass foot and mouth burial site intended for 300,000 bodies. It currently holds 36,000 corpses that produce hydrogen sulphide, a very toxic gas. The site is built upon 78 mine shafts riddled with faults, some filled with water that runs into local rivers and streams before joining the River Wear.

Blockades have stopped lorries coming onto site, eight people currently face court for these. There are daily pickets at the site with plans to continue with action.
