Small Is Beautiful
On 13th March, in the midst of the foot and mouth crisis and the wider global crisis in agriculture, environmental activists and small farmers held a meeting in Oxford to explore common ground for action. One of the key issues facing small farmers in their fight for survival is blatant exploitation by supermarkets; its no wonder that they cut environmental and health corners when they are paid less for their crops and animals than it costs them to produce. Stickers and leaflets are available for actions on supermarkets to highlight this issue to the 80% of people that do their weekly shop in a supermarket. Contact Corporate Watch 01865 791391 for leaflets and more info and meanwhile support local farmers!
