Glen Of the Downs Evicted

Police and private security moved in this month and removed protesters in tree houses and tunnels at Glen of the Downs protest camp, County Wicklow, Ireland. The eviction took 2 days as the developers, Ascon, destroyed everything in their way with no thought for the safety of the campers. Heavy machinery was driven over tunnels so those inside were forced out, fearing for their lives. All the camp equipment was destroyed or confiscated, and the camp cockerel was deliberately killed.

Many people have now moved on to an anti-pylon protest at Cove, County Cork.
