Undercurrents need your raw camcorder footage for 'Global Views', aimed at building worldwide solidarity against globalisation which has a strangle hold on our planets resources and communication systems. Ten activists from an environmental centre in Vallee d'Aspe (French Pyrenees) are on a hunger strike. A judge ruled that the motorway construction activities on a very disputed part of the route can continue, and there's an immediate threat of eviction of the centre (likely to be the 20th of April). Riot police, for years permanently present in Aspe-valley, can hardly wait, their hands are itching already. Dutch EF! blockaded the office of Projectgroup Betuweroute, interfering with the work of people planning the largest European rail-freight project . One said, "This is the first action of our Spring offensive against capitalism. We're working in preparation for May 1st, the next global anticapitalist day of action. Then EF! and other groups will show some radical resistance."

The Regulation of Investigatory Powers (RIP) Bill will force Internet Service Providers to build 'interception capabilities' into their systems. When served with an 'interception warrant' they will have to intercept private email and deliver its contents to the police or various intelligence agencies, or face a jail sentence.
