Huntingdon
February 12th saw the second National Demo against Huntingdon Life/Death Sciences in Cambridgeshire, where 500 animals of many different species die daily in cruel and useless experiments. Once again protest was excluded at the laboratory site, so several hundred people converged on Cambridge and kept the police occupied redirecting traffic and standing in neat lines for an afternoon. Three branches of Natwest Bank, now notorious for funding HLS, were visited.
The EF! AU is written by activists as a networking tool for activists. A different collective takes on its editorship for a year at a time, in line with EF!’s non-hierarchical principles. If you have done an action, set up a new group, or want to tell people about a campaign, then send us an article (maximum 150 words). It doesn’t matter if it seems small to you; stories of 3 people sitting on a digger are sometimes the most inspiring especially to people who aren’t part of a large group. The feature pages are also available for longer articles which will provide useful information for activists.
