Feline Freedom

Friday 13th August 1999 saw the closure of Hillgrove Farm, breeders of cats for vivisection. We always said we would force the closure of Hillgrove Farm and that is exactly what we did. The campaign against Hillgrove Farm proves once and for all that direct action works.

The campaign was never about us, the Browns or the police it was about saving the cats imprisoned at Hillgrove. 8 out of 11 workers left Hillgrove due to protest, Hillgrove was subjected to literally hundreds of demos - from 2 to 2000 people - over 2 years, Brown was inundated with phone calls day and night and he had over 150 black faxes sent before 10 am on just one morning. All this was too much and the Browns gave in with Christopher Brown saying "its been two years of hell".

The best of it all is that eight hundred cats from Hillgrove are now on their way to good homes. You can contact us to be put on our mailing list and receive details of the next campaign.
