Tarmac AGM

On Monday 24th activists from Bestwood, Nottingham, and elsewhere descended on Tarmac's AGM in Birmingham to protest against Tarmacs proposed quarries in Bestwood Country Park, and other crimes against the planet. A good turnout meant that when the first protester made their point, and a ripple of applause ran across the hall, Tarmac's chairman, John Banham's face fell. Next followed a tirade of high volume questioning, whistle blowing, and attempted assaults on the stage. The following scrum saw about 15-20 protesters carried out. The initial chaos set the agenda with all the questions at the AGM about Bestwood or the environment. John Banham agreed to visit the village and is flying in by helicopter (another on of their environmental policies?) to face protesters demands. The saga continues!!! The No Tarmac Quarries At Bestwood Campaign would like to unanimously thank all the crews and individuals who came to join us on the day, ta muchly.
