Rational Trust

Massive housing developments are now being planned throughout rural Britain.

A group calling themselves the 'Rational Trust' have started a regular poster campaign regarding strategic housing development within Wiltshire on greenbelt land and are expecting to set up protest camps within the next six months.

Beaufort Homes has been granted permission to build twelve houses on surrounding greenbelt in Highworth (Wiltshire), despite massive local opposition. As a result a public right of way was closed and ancient protected hedgerows were flattened, breaking a two hundred year old act of parliament. Trees were also felled and wildlife eradicated. Development then increased from twelve houses to a further seven hundred and fifty, all being built on greenbelt land and moving steadily towards Swindon.

This will also create more industrial development. Swindon council have been quoted as saying "Swindon will become a city, no matter what the cost".
