Women Against War
On April 16, one day after Nato warplanes bombed a refugee convoy in the Kosovo war, three women climbed the fence of the RAF base Fairford, from where bombers take off. They unfolded banners with pacifist slogans and tied them to the planes in the presence of American soldiers. Later on they were dragged off by MOD police, but no arrests were made. Other actions and blockades took place throughout Europe, including a hunger strike in Italy
