Trident Ploughshares 2000

Seven Scottish Trident Ploughshares activists blockaded the north gate of Faslane Naval Base. They attached themselves to a steel wire which they slung across the gateway with banners reading ‘Trident=Genocide’. It took MOD police more than half an hour to remove them, delaying the departure of the nuclear warhead convoy from Coulport to Albemarle.

Four protesters held up a Trident nuclear warhead convoy, in Balloch on Loch Lomondside. The convoy was halted for about 20 minutes by people standing in the road whilst others held banners.
