Brixton 121 Centre Eviction Threat

The 121 Centre in Brixton has been squatted for 18 years. Lambeth Council gained a re-possession order for the building on Thursday 14th January. Over the years the centre has been home to many publications and campaigns including Anarchist Black Cross, Bad Attitude, AnarQuist, Food Not Bombs, Anti-JSA and labour struggles, a Women's Group, FDLF etc, and hosted the first ever London anarchist queer festival. They have also provided advice on squatting , cheap vegan meals, and other resources for the local community. This attack on the 121 is just a part of the continuing programme of the gentrification of Brixton.

Although an appeal is planned there isn't much time and help is needed. Information needs to be spread as widely as possible, ideas gotten, as well as practical assistance in pro-active and defensive measures. People will be in the building every day from 12.00, and there will be resistance meetings every Monday night. so drop by. Offers of banners, bodies and barricades to: 0171 9788214 or 0171 2746655.
