Allotments In Peril

A campaign is brewing in Birmingham over the loss of some allotments to developers. The area, privately controlled by the Directors of the Victoria Jubilee Allotments, is set to become the site of 180 brand new 'Westbury Homes' if a current proposal by the company goes through. No new allotments on the site have been let for years despite the Handsworth area having the longest queue for council owned allotments in Birmingham.
