Global Resistance

The People's Global Action network, comprising people from many social sectors (small farmers, indigenous peoples, workers, women, ethnic groups, unemployed and many others) against neo-liberalism, believe over a hundred thousand people globally protested the G8 Summit and the Second Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organisation.

Actions included a long list of street parties, a march of 50,000 landless, homeless and unemployed people in Brazil, 23 regional conferences against the WTO in India, and anti-MAI demonstrations in Canada.

In Geneva, where the WTO is seated, they were met with riots and street parties, which they met with arrests, and the explusion of foreigners.

There'll be another PGA conference (after the last one in Geneva) in two years, bringing all these people together in India. Contact pga@agpp.org
