Mr Free Rob Cannabis of the Cannabis Hemp Information Club (CHIC), the Free Medical Marijuana Foundation (FMMF) and proprietor of a Glastonbury Hemp shop was imprisoned early January for seven days for "wilful non-payment" of fine and costs for the possession of 1.57 grams of herbal cannabis. The Judges were not unsympathetic to Free Rob's cause. Free Rob's statement included "Cannabis is a plant that has served humanity for thousands of years, providing us with our four basic needs of food, fibre, fuel and medicine. I cannot pay this fine as this would show my support for this physically and morally harmful law."
