Police Say Sorry...

The police have apologised to local councillors for their behaviour at the Oxford street party on November 1st. The meeting was arranged after pressure from the local Green Party. The police asked them to withdraw their official complaints in return for the apology, which the Green councillors refused to do until the police made the apology publicly in a local newspaper. The police have promised to use their video tapes from the day to identify those officers who'd forgotten to put their numbers on, and those who had a "heavy attitude", which they now admit was inappropriate for what should have been a peaceful protest.
