Hot Spring 98

In mid December activists from across Europe, Russia and Nigeria, held an ASEED gathering which ran parallel to the EU summit focusing on globalisation and corporate rule. The gathering was most fruitful in creating a 'global action feeling'. The concept 'hot spring' was floated - political activities to confront the centralisation of power by TNCs in the next 6 months. This complements the fever surrounding People's Global Action(PGA), one of the events in the hot spring, as is the EU directive on life patents in March, signing of the MAI in April, G8 and WTO in May, and EU Summit in June.
