Faslane Actions
On the weekend 18/19th October, 50 people, working in 5 or 6 different groups, descended upon the nuclear base. Around midnight on Saturday night a series of co-ordinated actions occurred. One group of activists, with the help of some bolt cutters, went to the Media Reception Centre which is where visitors are taken to avoid witnessing the real activities of the base. They decorated the place by painting yellow peace symbols and slogans. More painting and damage was done at Glen Douglas, the biggest store of nuclear weapons in Europe. Meanwhile another group went to the main gates playing music, banging fences, sounding the alarms and generally having a party.
