Bingley Still In Occupation

The Bingley 'relief road' scheme was put on hold last July following a review of road schemes but may still be given the go ahead when the government makes its final decision next spring. The protest camp which was set up on route when the scheme was first aired is still in existence. Campaigners are hoping that its presence will help to deter the government from proceeding with the road. In the meantime the Department of Transport has already started clearing buildings on the route of the road in order to pre-empt next spring's decision.
