Teigngrace Campaign Halts Contractors

The anti quarry campaign at Teigngrace, near Newton Abbot have won a temporary halt to construction and forced the government to consider a public enquiry. Door knocking and flyering in the local area led to thousands of letters demanding an enquiry to John Prescott who has since stopped the work. The eviction attempt is not expected until a decision is made giving the campaign more time to grow and realise collective strength. Local involvement is unprecedented and a 180mile march on London is planned to set off on Sat 27th Sept. Celebrate the strength and increasing popularity of direct action campaigning when Teigngrace comes to town. Arrival in Westminster is expected on 7th Oct.
