Earth First Arrival At Kings Cross?
Copenhagen Park is a green oasis near Kings Cross, providing relief from the craziness of London's urban sprawl. Many people from local housing estates use the land as their only garden. This is threatened however by a planning application from the New Islington and Hackney Housing Association who want to build flats on the land. Opponents argue that the destruction of a precious green space is not necessary and that the flats could either be built on derelict land or the Housing Association could renovate currently uninhabitable council housing in the area. A campaign has recently been launched to protect the Park - contact Save Copenhagen Park c/o Reclaim the Streets, London.
