Swamp Stories
Following the A30 protest Exeter’s local paper The Express and Echo recently reported that the Under Sheriff of Devon, Trevor Coleman, is “hiring out a team of ‘Swampy Busters’ for developers who fear they will be targeted by eco-warriors”.
The new Major Protest Unit, set up by Mr Coleman and his colleagues at Michelmores Solicitors in Exeter, will be “targeted at developers tendering for privately funded building schemes - particularly roads passing through environmentally sensitive areas”. They are warning potential clients “not to under-estimate the campaigners and their techniques for halting construction”.
For advice on how to deal with the Swampy phenomenon contact Mr Coleman at The Major Protest Unit, Michelmores, Cathedral Yard, Exeter, Devon, EX1 1HE.
