Horseplay At Lloyds-TSB AGM
There were many twists in the tales of the black horse, when a black panto horse trotted into the Lloyds-TSB AGM on April 15th. The horse, accompanied by two ‘generals’ and other shareholders, questioned the new chair, Sir Brian Pitman, on Third World debt and Lloyds financing of Alvis and Vickers tanks to Indonesia and Nigeria respectively.
No surprises from Lloyds when they refused to answer questions on future arms financing, but surprising support came from a former magistrate who berated Sir Brian, accusing him of insulting the protestors who, “have still got the conscience that most people here seem to have lost.”
The HSBC/Midland AGM is on the 30th May, Barbican centre, phone 0161-274 4665.
