Holtsfield Victory

Fortunately, Labour's was not the only victory on May 1st. The residents of Holtsfield chalet community, who were living under the threat of eviction, won their case in the House of Lords. Earlier in the year they had marched from Swansea to Westminster to highlight their plight at the hands of profiteering property developer, Tim Jones. This is the most significant land-rights decision for a decade as it questions the age old feudal law which gives the land owner absolute rights to the land beneath tenants homes. This could have a positive impact on travellers, gypsies and other low impact dwellers
