Anglesey
Last month a school on Anglesey ‘adopted’ a Hawk jet from Angelsey Valley RAF base. The name of the school was painted on the fuselage and the children were taken to admire it. Sgt Ted Constable explained the role of the Hawk at RAF Valley and its use with the Red Arrows Display Team. No mention was made of what it is used for in East Timor nor that the Indonesian pilots are trained there. After a look around the main Hawk hangar, the kids went off to the station’s Golf Club for lunch and a special gift package.
