Wednesday 20th November saw the Brighton crew squat the Old Courthouse, that was originally squatted two years ago, to use as a venue for the Direct Action Conference due to happen on Saturday 23rd. The squat was short lived as the police came in on the Thursday morning and illegally evicted it. There were ten arrests for various offences. On the Friday morning a massive old BT building was opened up. The conference started slightly later than timetabled but all the workshops and discussions happened and overall it was a very informative and useful day. Workshop subjects ranged from genetic engineering to rascism and the major discussion about where do we go from here saw a few interesting suggestions and ideas emerge that will hopefully be acted on by people in the future.
