Anti-McDonalds Day

Two hundred of McDonalds UK stores were leafleted during October as part of the second Day of Solidarity With McDonalds Workers, and the twelfth World Day of Action Against McDonalds. There were protests in around twenty five different countries around the world, from Japan to Argentina. In North America alone about thirty cities were covered, including two rooftop demos where people locked themselves on and unfurled banners.

Meanwhile in the McLibel trial the closing speeches have started and are due to be finished by 18th December, after which the judge’s personal verdict will be expected sometime in early 1997.
