Week Of Anti Arms Trade Actions

After the legal victory of the four ploughshares women at the end of July (who back in January smashed up a Hawk fighter jet) there is an increased level of public debate and concern over theft of land and resources that leads to human and environmental degradation of Indonesia and the lands that it has occupied.

This awareness and concern needs to be directed to stop the arms industry and government selling arms to Indonesia. With this aim there is to be a week of actions from 2-6 December in London, and the co-ordinators of this week are specifically asking for the involvement of Earth First! activists. They say that there is a need for office occupations, banner drops, blockades etc..

There will be a briefing pack produced soon, but anyone that is interested in finding out more now can phone 0171 281 0297 or 01603 611953 or write to Campaign Against the Arms Trade, 11 Goodwin Street, London N4 3HQ.
