A1(M) Actions

Another day of action against the privately financed A1 motorway (from Alconbury to Peterborough) construction took place on 8th August. Although work was only halted for three hours, extensive media coverage resulted from the action. Police presence was heavier than last time, with 2 van loads waiting at the meeting place, though the main group of activists drove straight to the action, thus outwitting any intervention.

As the devastation caused by the construction becomes more apparent to the local people, increasing numbers of them are coming out to support the protests. More actions are planned, with a Pumpkin Party Protest sometime in October. For more details phone: 01767 692326.
