Move
Ramona Africa, from the radical ecological group MOVE in America, has succeeded in her case against the City of Philadelphia, to win compensation for the bombing of the MOVE commune in 1985 that killed thirteen people. She was awarded $500,000 (about £320,000). Nine members of the group are still in prison in the US and there is an ongoing campaign to get them released.
There will also be a picket outside the American Embassy on August 8th between 12 noon and 3pm to mark the 8th Anniversary of the Siege on their commune, followed by street workshops from 7-9pm the same day, the venues of which are yet to be confirmed.
