Trees For Life
Due to trees cut for fuel and timber and to convert the land for agricultural use, less than 1% of the huge boreal Caledonian Forest that used to cover much of the Scottish Highlands remains. Trees for life are aiming to restore 1500 square kilometers of the forest to its natural state, including re-introduction of native wildlife such as Wolves. They run volunteer work weeks throughout the year, contact 01309 691292 for info.
