102 farmers were arrested after the trashing of a Kentucky Fried Chicken store on January 30th, in Bangalore, India. The store was trashed to protest against the opening of the fast food chain. The farmers are concerned that multinational corporations will deplete the country’s livestock - affecting agriculture, the environment, and health. Professor Nanjundaswamy of the Karnataka State Farmers Association has been released but 101 farmers are still in police custody. They also oppose other multinationals like Curgell Seeds, Pepsi, and McDonalds.
