Coalition Against Runway 2, At Manchester Airport
The first meeting of Manchester’s Anti-Runway 2 group, an alliance against the construction of the airport’s second runway, was held in November.
If construction on the runway goes ahead, 700 acres of open countryside and woodland will be trashed. The proposed second runway would create 30 million extra car journeys per year, requiring the construction of another 120 miles of motorway.
There will be a conference in Manchester early this year to which all groups are welcome.
A direct action pledge is being compiled, for more info contact: 141 Hamilton Rd, Longsight, Manchester M13. 0161 998 1888.
