Annesley Road
Annesley, near Nottingham, saw it’s first direct action on Saturday the 20th of January, when a small but determined group of activists stopped work on the route of the M1 Link road. The road is part of a huge development which will annihilate an ancient woodland and the surrounding countryside. Work came to a halt when a mixture of EF!er’s & local people scrambled onto anything that moved. This promises to be the first action in a long campaign. Local people are fervently against the scheme and have set up two protest groups. Info. 0115 958 5666. Stop Press: Clearance work on the ancient woodland has just started (31/1) and activists are stopping work. People desperately needed.
