Faslane
Thirteen and a half year old Faslane Peace Camp in Dumbartonshire is feeling the sharp end of a clamp down on its activities through persecution from the ‘authorities’. One example of this was the £500 fine imposed on a protester for fire-breathing at the south gate of the nuclear submarine base. The protester was originally charged with six counts of assault for this peaceful activity but eventually got convicted of a breach of the peace. The camp is fast running out of money to pay for these ludicrous court appearances. Please send some dosh. Meanwhile, the ‘Alien’ action in mid-October went off with a bang, and a future one day ‘Hootenany’ is taking place on 5 November with all sorts of creative workshops going on. Possibility of more direct actions: 01436 820901.
