End The Arms Trade

The Campaign Against the Arms Trade (CAAT) held a Student and Youth gathering on October 21/22 at the University of Central Lancashire, Preston. The gathering ended stylishly with actions against British Aerospace (BAe) on the 23rd. CAAT also led a silent march and nonviolent sit down blockade of the Copex arms fayre on the 31st. For November 11th and 12th a weekend of actions are planned urging the Government to cancel the BAe contract to supply Hawk aircraft to Indonesia. By doing so, BAe are directly arming the Suharto dictatorship which rules Indonesia - the cause of mass genocide in East Timor. Info: 0171 281 4369.
