(Wo)Menwith Hill
Kate Witham has been charged with £21,000 damage to a radome at Menwith Hill US spy station. She allegedly painted ‘Peace, Truth, Justice, Freedom’. For this ‘crime’ she faces trial in crown court and a prison sentence of up to a year or more. Help and support is desperately needed to raise money for the defence fund. A ‘sentence sweepstake’ has been set up by the women to fund the campaign, 50p a guess - entries so far range from case dismissed to 25 years imprisonment! Please make cheques payable to ‘Peace House’. Send to Peace House, 5 New Road, Littleborough, Lancashire, OL15 8PJ.
12 women also face trial from October 30th, regarding blockades in May. Kate and other women are available to give talks to your group. Further actions will take place from November 30th to December 3rd. This is in solidarity with Australian anti spy base protesters and the two sister bases in Australia.
