Womens’ Peace Camp

Menwith Hill is the largest U.S. spy station in the Northern Hemisphere. Run by the National Security agency, it is an integral part of the U.S. war machine. There has been a camp outside Menwith for 18 months; women take NVDA to impede the spying activities, provide information and are a permanent peace presence. There was a blockade of the base last month in which 4 were arrested.

Kate Witham has been charged with £21,504.34 damage to a Radome on which she ‘allegedly’ painted ‘Peace, Truth, Justice, Freedom’. She now faces a Crown Court trial and a possible prison sentence of 12 months or more.
