Gwynedd Land Occupation

Eithinog Meadows in Bangor, Gwynedd, N. Wales, a 30 acre wild flower and woodland site rich in wildlife (400 species) is under threat from an executive housing development. Arfon council which owns the land, plans to grant full planning permission despite a 3000 strong petition, a survey showing local opposition, numerous objections from environmental groups and their own housing survey which shows NO housing need!

Gwynedd EF! and local residents have been working on a high profile campaign for over a year. With “conventional” methods being ignored direct action is now being planned as contracts go out to tender in 3 weeks.

As part of the campaign a 'Land is Ours' occupation is planned - 5 days of workshops, life style and campfire culture. This will be from the 25th-30th September, so don’t go straight home from the EF! gathering - take a detour to scenic N. Wales for a prelude of North Wales' direct action campaign of 95-6!
