Nuclear Testing

After the French government's decision to resume nuke testing in the South Pacific there have been angry protests around the world. In Australia a French consulate was bombed and burnt to the ground by a group calling itself the "Pacific Popular Front" whilst the Fire Brigade in one Australian city have said that if any French property catches fire they will save lives but let the property burn! Youth CND are organising weekly vigils outside the French Embassy along with a snowballing program of civil disobedience.

This summer sees the 50th anniversary of the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Britain still insists on maintaining its Nuclear Weapons and there will be a rally in Trafalgar Square, London on July 16th entitled '50 Years under the Bomb', 1-4pm. Contact Youth CND 0171 607 3616.
