Remember Hiroshima

On August 6th 1945 the US dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima. 3 days later, a second bomb dropped on Nagasaki. The nuclear age had begun. Even now, more than 100 000 people are still receiving medical assistance due to the after effects. As the 50th anniversary approaches, 2 of the survivors - Hibakusha - are touring the UK in a campaign for world nuclear disarmament. The tour is being organised by CND and the dates are: June 27th London, 28th Norwich, 29th Sheffield, 30th Leeds, July 3rd Newcastle, 4th Glasgow, 6th Carlisle, 7th Manchester, 8th Coventry, 10th Birmingham, 11th Cardiff, 13th Bristol, 14th Reading, 16th London (event in Trafalgar Square). Contact 01274 730795 or 0114 2739047. Faslane Peace Camp at Faslane Trident Submarine Base in Scotland, will be having a series of major actions between the 7th & 9th of August, in memory of the Nagasaki bombing - Don’t let it happen again. 01436 820901.
