Local MP Alan Stewart appeared in court on the 23rd May and pleaded not guilty to assaulting road protesters. Makes a change doesn’t it! The police have been operating an 'arrest on site' policy, 10 local people have been arrested recently, held over night and then released with outrageous bail conditions. The good news is that John Livingstone got out of prison on 28th April and Colin McLeod, founder of the Free State, was acquitted of assault charges when a security guard admitted that it was a stitch-up. The Scottish Defiance Alliance are holding an anti-CJA party on 3rd June, starting at 2pm at the bandstand in Kelvin Grove Park, live music, etc. Glasgow EF! are thinking of having a DIY conference this summer and would be interested to get some feedback on the idea.
