Bialowieza Forest
13 Native Forest activists recently travelled to Poland to help the campaign to save the Bialowieza forest. This forest is the last remaining natural area of biodiversity in central and eastern Europe, containing European Bison, lynx, wolf and moose. The 'Workshop for all Beings' are environmentalists working to protect the Polish side of the forest from logging. As the forest is the last remains of the wilderness that once covered Europe they want to highlight the international importance of the forest. The activists took part in several actions whilst there including a protest camp outside the Presidential building and occupying the Ministry of Forestry. An action in London is being planned as part of an international day of action. Contact Avon Gorge EF! or email: joystick@plearn.edu.pl
