Rentamob Save Woodlands!

Avon Gorge EF! got a desperate call recently from a lady whose local woodlands were being destroyed.

“They want to build a golf course, but planning permission was turned down.” she said, “Now they’re appealing against the decision and The Forestry Commission are bulldozing the woods in advance - please help, we’ve tried everything!”

So a few Earth Firsters went along that day to the 50 acre woods near Bristol, D-locked themselves to machinery and stopped the chainsaws.

An astounded Forestry Commission official agreed to meet local people the next day, where their views were explained to him.

A few weeks later planning permission for the golf course was again turned down!

The moral of this story is make sure you have a reliable contact number and people know you exist!
