Your P45s Are In The Post

There was a sad farewell last month to our friends John MacGregor and Robert Key from the DoT. Judging from their last public appearances both are in need of some serious rest, let’s hope they can find a corner of England which is not being disrupted by the noise and pollution of cars and lorries, because that would be such a shame wouldn’t It!!! Anyway the new line up is as follows:

SECRETARY FOR TRANSPORT - Dr Brian Mawhinney. MP for Peterborough since 1979. Previous to this move he had been at the Northern Ireland office for about 8 years. According to a DoT press release, his interests include sport and reading.

MINISTER FOR ROADS AND RAILWAYS - John Watts. He is MP for Slough and by all accounts a boring sod, let's help him make his mark in the world by scrapping road building and increasing funding to railways.

MINISTER FOR LONDON TRANSPORT, LOCAL TRANSPORT & ROAD SAFETY - Steven Norris, All I know about this man is he’s not very nice and has at least two mistresses. (Big deal eh?)

MINISTER FOR AVIATION, SHIPPING & GOVERNMENT TRANSPORT MATTERS IN THE LORDS - Viscount Goshen. All I know is that he’s 28, thus is the youngest Govt. Minister, and sounds like a right inbred mutant.
