'Caller Display' is a clever little addition to BT’s range of customer dis-services. It displays the caller's phone number before the person picks up the phone. The service is available on a phone with 'Caller Display' equipment. Malicious callers and private investigators beware. Luckily, if you don't want someone you’re calling to have your number, you can prefix their number with 141.
