Help Them To Their Skips, They're Past Their Sell-by Dates
Cattle Against Consumerism are a trans-species collective which aims to highlight the consumerist ethic which dominates in today’s livestock humans. 'By cattle we mean people. People today behave very much like cattle. Few seem to think for themselves, all follow in groups and do what they are told, and they don’t question or understand the society in which they live.' The group targets STUPORMARKETS, 'the holy shrines of the consumerist culture. Cattle travel, usually by car, to go through the weekly ritual of dragging their relatives around the brightly lit rows of consumerist crap which allegedly constitutes food'.
The first of a series of actions was at SAINSBURY’S HEDGE END 'Cattle shed on the M27' store. Activists mooved products around in a random manner, blocked cashtill aisles, sat on the conveyor belt, and heckled a herd of shoppers. After their forcible removal, they discussed grievances with securicreeps and stock managers.
Not only are stupormarkets accused of building on greenfield sites etc etc, they are also alleged to play 'crap canned elevator music'. Contact 0181 848 8744 or 0171 921 6000
