And Yet More Roads...

Bishop Stortford

The construction of the Stanstead link road may be called off if it can be delayed until January. Activists are needed now! Please call Helen Pritchard on 01279 501570.

Newbury

The proposed A34 Bypass has now been put off until January. The legality of the £1 million included in the cost of the contract to pay for extra security is to be challenged as a misuse of public funds. This is an excellent local campaign. Ring 01655 953160 for details.

Wymondham

The campaign against this Norfolk road is still going on, despite the lack of numbers. 50 people took part in a mass trespass recently, but this campaign, perhaps more than any other, is starved of the most valuable resource, i.e. YOU LOT! Cal! 01603 484753.

Doveridge

8 houses will be trashed if work starts on the Doveridge Bypass, Derbyshire. A vineyard will also be wiped out. This scheme is very unpopular locally. Call Road Alert! for details.

Operations Gridlock

This event is being planned in support of the striking signal workers. It will involve as many “Stop the Traffic” actions in town centres as possible. More info from New Statesman on 0171 739 3211

Also - North Circular Widening, London and A30 Honiton-Exeter Upgrading.
